How to Choose Children's Toys Not Made in China
Even Chinese parents prefer toys not made in China. So to be sure, to be safe, try these ideas for babies, toddlers and school age children. From the US to Europe, many alternatives exist out there. Just doublecheck that the parts themselves are not manufactured in China, and then assembled elsewhere. (Sometimes labels can be misleading).

How to Choose Children's Toys Not Made in China
-
1
Go wooden. Choose wooden rattles made in Germany for your baby. Try Selecta Toys or Kathe Kruse for grasping, sucking and chewing (Kathe Kruse also makes quality stuffed animals). These types of toys have been used by babies in Europe for generations.
-
2
Sample wooden or cardboard blocks for toddlers, made by European companies such as Haba. These also encourage endless creative play, unlike more specifically tailored playsets.

3
Choose Playmobil for more extensive playsets, such as pirate ships, but avoid their Take Along series. Also, select Duplo or Lego for construction sets...but as far as Lego goes, note that only the Lego bricks themselves are not made in China. Fancier Lego products are indeed made in China.

4
Go American with American Plastics or Little Tikes. If you need a plastic alternative for a trike or kitchen set, explore these companies' offerings. Kettler also manufactures trikes and bikes, but in Germany.
