Yoga has grown in popularity. However, many people fail to move beyond the beginning poses. In advanced yoga, these poses are categorized into the following four series : A, B, C & D. As the letters go up, the intensity of the asanas increase. This article will show you step-by-step how to get your body in and out of an Advanced C sequence (Taraksvasana A and Taraksvasana B).

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoga mat

    How to Do a Vinyasa Advanced C Sequence

  1. Step 1
    Samasthiti position
    Samasthiti position

    Start in the samasthiti position.

  2. Step 2
    Uttanasana position
    Uttanasana position

    Reach up and inhale. Exhale into uttanasana.

  3. Step 3

    Inhale and lift, straightening your legs into a traditional handstand position. Exhale and bring both feet towards the back of your head.

  4. Step 4

    Take 5 breaths.

  5. Step 5

    Inhale and straighten your leg. Hold for 5 breaths.

  6. Step 6

    Exhale and position your left leg into a back bend.

  7. Step 7
    Chaturanga position
    Chaturanga position

    Inahle to a straight handstand and exhale down to chaturanga.

Tips & Warnings
  • Variations of the sequences differ based on who is teaching and where it is taught. Try attending different classes to learn more advanced yoga sequences that are categorized in Advanced C sequence.
  • If you feel discomfort during the asanas, immediately stop.
