Choose the right size scarves. Select a rectangular scarf at least 25 inches long and at least as wide as your waist. The oblong scarf should be 4 inches wide by 13 inches long.

Create a hem. Lay the scarf on a flat surface, face up. Fold the edge of the scarf width-wise about ½ inch. Use straight pins to secure the short edge. Use a top stitch to sew a hem across the scarf.

Make the neckline. Use a blunt tool, such as a craft stick, to help guide the scarf. Just wrap the oblong scarf over the craft stick. Gather the hem and thread the oblong scarf through the hem.
