How to Deal with an Annoying Bridesmaid

Often times the bridal party is not only friends of the bride, but the groom’s sister or close female friends. Sometimes these ladies don’t take kindly to new comers and can be catty and even down right mean.

1. Resist the urge to be catty right back. A wedding is a stressful time and if you say anything rude to a person in your wedding party (whether you chose them or your partner did) you will be labeled a bridezilla immediately. Bite your tongue and smile.

2. If the bridesmaid is a friend of your partner express to them how she makes you feel. Perhaps he can help you mediate the situation.

3. Ask your maid of honor or another bridesmaid to be in charge of the bridesmaid email or phone chain. It will forge your bond with your chosen bridesmaid and protect you from the irritation of dealing with the annoying bridesmaid frequently.

4. Be gracious. While she may deeply irritate you it’s important that you treat her the same as the other bridesmaid. Purchase her a gift that is as nice as the other bridesmaids for her contribution to the wedding and resist the temptation to ignore her. Make an effort to include her in conversations when all of the bridesmaids are gathered together. Perhaps you will start to see her good sides!
