Step 1
To draw a simple three-dimensional box, draw a small square inside a bigger square. Draw lines from the corners of the smaller square to the corners of the bigger square.

Step 2
To draw a box in perspective, draw a short line with a longer line in front of it. Connect the two lines with lines. Then add a rectangle to the larger line as shown in the example.

Step 3
On both boxes, make sure that the lines are straight and the proportions are correct for your drawing.

Step 4
Example of shaded box used in a drawing.Add shading to the box to make it have depth. The side closest to the light source should be lighter than the side that is further away.
