Just three ingredients and no flour to make the best peanut butter cookies.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 c. peanut butter (creamy or crunchy)
  • 1 c. sugar (white or brown)
  • 1 egg
  • Parchment paper
  • Cookie sheet
  • Oven
  • Cooling rack
  • Fork
  • Mixing bowl
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Cut the parchment paper to fit the cookie sheet and lay it on top.

  2. Step 2

Combine the sugar, peanut butter, and egg in a mixing bowl. Stir to combine.

  3. Step 3

Drop by spoonfuls onto the parchment lined cookie sheet. Leave about two inches of space between the cookies.

  4. Step 4

Flatten the cookies with the fork. Make a criss-cross pattern with the fork.

  5. Step 5

Bake the cookies in the oven at 325 for 8-10 minutes, until very slightly browned on top. You might have to turn the pan around if your oven does not evenly heat. If you are unsure if the cookies are done, pull them out. They will finish cooking after you remove them from the oven.

  6. Step 6

Once out of the oven, let the cookies rest on the cookie sheet for 5-10 minutes. Then remove them from the parchment lined cookie sheet to a cooling rack to cool completely. Enjoy with a large glass of milk.

Tips & Warnings
  • The criss-cross pattern on the cookies can be done by laying the tines of the fork across the top of the cookie from side to side, then turning the fork 90 degrees and doing the same thing. This will result in an X pattern on your cookie made by the tines.
  • If the cookies fall apart when you try to remove them from the cookie sheet, let them rest for 3-5 more minutes.
  • If you like your peanut butter cookies softer, pull them out of the oven a minute or two early. For crisper cookies, leave them in for a minute or two more.
  • Using brown sugar will result in chewier cookies. White sugar gives you crisper cookies.
  • Do not over bake the cookies. They will finish cooking and crisp after you have removed them from the oven.
  • These cookies contain peanuts, so you will want to forewarn those with peanut allergies.
