Things You'll Need:
- Nylon Coated Beading Wire
- 2 Crimp Beads or Tubes
- Beads
- Clasp (Toggle Clasps are often recommended for bracelets, but not necessary)
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Glue (I recommend Bead Fix which dries fast, is strong, and doesn't discolor your beads).
- A Bead Board (optional but helpful).
-
Step 1
Cut your wires. You will want one wire for each strand of the bracelet. It should be about four inches longer then the finished piece is going to be.
-
Step 2
While this sounds complicated it is easy.Place your wires together and fold them over so that you have about one and a half inches on one side and the rest on the other. Place the first half of your clasp so that it is on the fold.
-
Step 3
Next string a crimp bead onto both sides of the wires. Push it tight and crimp the crimp bead. To learn more about crimping beads visit this article: http://www.ehow.com/how_2319012_crimp-crimp-bead.html
-
Step 4
Begin adding beads to each of your strands. You will want to use a pattern that looks nice and it may help to lay it out on a bead board for easier beading and for measuring your piece as you go along.
-
Step 5
You may want to add a focal bead by stringing it on all of the strands of wire. You can do this in the center or at several different points. This can make for a more interesting piece.
-
Step 6
Once you have finished stringing your beads you will want to add a crimp bead and then your clasp. Run your wires back through your crimp bead. Pull everything tight and crimp.
-
Step 7
Next add a dab of glue to each of your crimp beads for a little extra security.
-
Step 8
Trim your wires. You can either do this very carefully after the crimp bead or run each on down a few beads on the strands. If you run them down the strands it is easier to hide them by trimming close to the bead and sliding a bead over the end.
-
Step 9
Now you can wear your piece, give it away, or even sell it if you want to!
