Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- Vacuum cleaner with attachment
- Baking Soda
- Upholstery Cleaner
- Hairdryer
Step1
Vacuum the mattress with the appropriate attachment to help get rid of dust. Try to air the mattress out for awhile, ideally six hours either outside or near a window where it can get some sun.
Step2
To remove any musty smells from the mattress, sprinkle baking soda and let it sit for 24 hours. Vacuum up. To remove stains, use an upholstery cleaner on the mattress.
Step3
If you are using cleaner on the mattress, speed the drying process with a hairdryer. To remove urine stains, use a pet-odor remover cleaner.

on 6/26/2008 Great advice...I never thought of vaccuuming a mattress until a friend suggested it a few years ago...I have a dyson so seeing just how much it collected was both rewarding and disturbing! Thanks for sharing!
