Things You'll Need:
- Apples to Apples game
- 4-10 friends
-
Step 1
Sit around a table, or in a circle with a bunch of friends. Choose someone to be the judge first. Place the card holder with the green and red cards in the middle of the group for easy access. Deal 5 cards out to everyone and tell them to keep them private.
-
Step 2
The red cards are nouns and the green cards are adjectives. The judge picks up a green card and reads it. The other players look at their red cards, and then they choose something that best describes that adjective.
They then discard their choice to the judge still facedown and private. -
Step 3
The game is not set up so that the answers are literal. That's the whole fun of the game! You will come across things that have absolutely nothing to do with each other, and the point of the game is how you think and how creative you can be.
-
Step 4
On the cards will be descriptions of everything to help you out, and allow you to expand the boundaries a little bit. Something could be taken literally or not at all, or sometimes just plain the opposite of what it is for a laugh. It helps to know who you are playing with and understand how they think.
-
Step 5
After the judge looks through what they have, they read the answers aloud so everyone can hear them and take them into consideration. The judge picks one, and whosoever card it is gets the green card. It is said that once you get a green card it is supposed to be describing you. The judging is roundabout, done in a circle of either way. The next person becomes the judge and does the same thing.
Remember, at the end of each round, each player must have 5 cards in their hands. Once they give a card to a judge in a round they take another one. The one with the most cards wins, and you go on until you feel like stopping, frankly.
