How to make a vacation to India worthwhile

On a vacation to India, a visit to the Thar Desert is a must. While you are on a holiday do you wish to gain some first hand experience ? Make your trip memorable. We open doors to those interested in doing Community Service with Village Children in a rural area near Pushkar as well as Hearing Impaired and Mentally Challenged in Ajmer, Rajasthan, a State on the western side of India.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Passport
  • Visa
  • Activity material you wish to carry especially for the Service you have opted.
  • Clothes as per the season but which do not attract unnecessary attention.
Step1
In your itienary Rajasthan to be included. Try an avoid May and June as the temperature is soaring and the heat is unbearable.We would like you to stay minimum for a week to feel the experience.
Step2
Once you have made up your mind to do Community Service let us know your choice from the three mentioned above. You could give options, if you want.
Step3
During the morning hours you can be with the Hearing Impaired or Mentally Challenged Children. The rest of the day is yours to spent as you would like to--sight-seeing, cycling, hiking,reading, doing photography, bird-watching,just interacting with the host to know about Indian culture or with local community with the help of an interpreter.
Working with Village children in School would be in the morning but it can be arranged any other time for games, photography and activity, if interested

Tips & Warnings

  • Kampsite, where you would stay is 3 kms away from Pushkar, a holy place in India. It is famous for Camel-Fair held in the month of November.
  • Your stay would include boarding, lodging and tranport charges to the place of work on a per day basis.
  • You would be staying on a farm which has a beautiful setting amidst hill called Aravallis, one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world.
  • The farm has rose garden,fruit trees, farm animals, birds and a Swimming Pool
  • The AC cottages are furnished with attached bathroom having hot and cold running water. Clean linen and towel provided.
  • Laundry facility on payment.
  • Excellent Indian,local and continental food of choice provided.
  • Your host an elderly couple are widely traveled to Europe and USA.They are well versed with local culture and Indian way of life.
  • Every care would be taken to make your stay comfortable.
  • As Pushkar is a religious place one has to be careful and in no way hurting the sentiments of the people living there.
  • It would be appropriate for girls to avoid wearing short tops over jeans as staying in a rural set up has its limitations and safety is necessary.
