Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Things You’ll Need:
- The desire to hold on to your dignity
- A phone with voice mail
- A notebook and pen to take notes with
Step1
(Assuming you have made it clear that you don't want your ex to call you) When your ex is calling you DO NOT pick up the phone. I know it's tempting to get into an argument, or to tell him to "fu- off", but really, it's just feeding the fire. When an ex continually harasses you and won't stop calling--- they are essentially STALKING you.
What stalkers want, is to have you acknowledge them, because they want your attention. So, if you pick up the phone, you are acknowledging your psycho ex, and you are thus making the situation worse.
Step2
Get a new phone and a new phone number. Do not call your ex or anyone you know from this phone number.
Step3
Keep the number your ex calls you at, active. As long as they can leave messages on your voicemail, they will feel like they are getting through to you. This will 1. Allow you to keep record of this harassment and 2. Prevent them from bothering you at work, or going to your house, etc.
Save these voicemails for two weeks, or whenever your inbox fills up. Make sure you save the call logs.
Step4
Bring the phone, calls logs, any notes you have from your ex calling you to your local police department and file a police report. Also talk to the police department about filing a restraining order ESPECIALLY if your ex knows where you live. The police will help put a stop your ex from harassing you.
