Instructions

Things You'll Need:

    Rotary Blades

  1. Step 1

Use a quilter's rotary cutter to cut straight, crisp edges for your party invitations.

  2. Step 2

Lay the paper over a work surface designed for this purpose, like a cutting board or a quilting board.

  3. Step 3

Apply clamps or weights to secure the paper so it doesn't shift while you cut.

  4. Step 4

Lay a straight edge down, like a level or a quilter's measuring tool, and use it as a guide to run your rotary blade up to create a straight line.

  5. Scissors

  6. Step 1

Choose very sharp scissors to cut your party invitations.

  7. Step 2

Cut the invitations from each other, leaving you smaller paper to work with.

  8. Step 3

Move the paper rather than the scissors to get a clean edge.

  9. Step 4

Trim away any slivers of paper that may have formed as you cut.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use scissors that cut decorative edges to create fun and interesting party invitations.
