Snowboarding can be so much fun once you find your center of balance. Spending time around walls, ramps, pipes and rails can make you think of all kinds of tricks you'd like to try. The rock to fakie on a snowboard is a beginner trick, which means if you can slide down the mountain and steer without biting it, you should definitely try this trick.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate
Step1
Start with momentum. Obviously, most walls are surrounded by hills, but if it happens to be flat, start on the wall going down and then turn around to face the wall without losing a lot of your speed. Slide toward the wall and bend your knees as you approach it.
Step2
Know your center. You can feel your center of gravity really well on a snowboard, so you'll use it to lean into the rock part of this trick. As your knees are bent and you slide up the wall, lean at the top toward the high side.
Step3
Balance your board. At the top of the wall, as you are leaning, let the lower end of your board rise up. This is the rock. It's kind of like a teeter-totter and it takes just seconds to perform. You will not hold this stance at the top for more than two seconds.
Step4
Slide back down. After you rock at the top, you simply let your board make full contact with the wall again and slide back down. Since you will be facing the opposite direction without turning around, you will then be doing the fakie part of this trick.
