2. Understand your bow. It takes more skill to use a recurve bow and a traditional bow than it does to use a compound bow. Buy a compound bow if you want to more easily improve your accuracy. These bows are more accurate and they use a series of pulleys to improve your shot.

3. Choose a traditional bow if you want to improve your accuracy with pure skill and without the added help of the pulleys. Pay attention to the wind and how it carries the arrow. Judge your distance properly because too much distance makes the arrows slow down and drop.

4. Learn to use your equipment properly. Hold your bow correctly and firmly. Position your arrow properly and remain steady. Use your sights correctly. Adjust your sight pin up or down which changes your aim and practice with different sights.

5. Keep your bow arm straight and steady. Keep good form and hold the bow gently. Release your arrow arm smoothly as you take your shot.

6. Use a sling to hold the bow so you don't have to grip it when you shoot. Point the bow where you want the arrow to go. Hold your bow arm straight. Raise your arm keeping your elbow to the side. Pull back and shoot.

7. Tape yourself and see what you are doing wrong or get someone to watch you and give tips. Watch professionals and see what they do right or join an archery club to learn proper technique from an expert.
