Step 1
Complete the top stitching around the outside edge of the chair cover last. Do this part of the sewing after the rest of the cover has been sewn together.
-
Step 2
Trim any loose threads around the chair cover's edges. Examine the entire outside edge of the cover and trim off any loose or extra threads so they don't get snagged on the chair when you cover it.
-
Step 3
Start at the top left corner of the chair and pull the cover gently over the frame. Then stretch the cover carefully over the right corner of the chair frame so that the top of the frame is covered.
-
Step 4
Drape the cover down the back and seat of the chair. Allow the fabric to fall naturally and smooth out any wrinkles in the fabric as you go.
-
Step 5
Pull the fabric cover over the left bottom of the butterfly chair frame. Hold the right side of the cover in your hand so the action doesn't pull the right side of the cover free from the frame.
-
Step 6
Stretch the last corner of the cover over the lower right corner of the butterfly chair frame. Adjust the fabric on the back and seat of the chair so it falls naturally without any wrinkles or overstretched areas.
