After you finish your self-hypnosis session, it is very important to bring yourself back to your everyday world slowly and carefully. You want to remember the good things that happened during the session so open your eyes after self-hypnosis with the same care you used during the actual session. The positive changes will stay with you long after the session is over.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Know when you are ready to leave your self-hypnosis session. Most often, you set a certain amount of time for a session such as one hour, but it can also be after you achieve a certain goal.

  2. Step 2

Begin to return to your normal world. Tell yourself it is time to resume your normal daily routine. Tell yourself you will remember the good feeling in your normal routine.

  3. Step 3

Count backwards. Pick a number and use this same number for every self-hypnosis session. The most common number used is the number five.

  4. Step 4

Tell yourself you will begin to emerge from the self-hypnosis session. Tell yourself you will open your eyes when you reach the number one.

  5. Step 5

Say "Five, I am feeling refreshed, I am feeling strong, and I made a positive change in my life."

  6. Step 6

Speak to yourself. "Four, I feel good, I feel great, I feel good." "Three, I accomplished my goal." "Two, I am opening my eyes." "One, my eyes are open--I feel great."

  7. Step 7

Open your eyes. Do not get up right away. Sit for a few minutes, then go about your normal daily routine. Use self-hypnosis every day for best results.
