How to Check Tire Pressure on Trailers
Properly inflated tires will ensure the safe transportation of your personal property and passengers in your vehicle. Without routine maintenance and care, tires without the proper air pressure will not "wear" properly, and can cause damage to your personal property.

1
Look at the firewall of the tires (the smooth area above the rim) to find the manufacturer's suggested PSI rating (pounds per square inch) for your tires. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the current pressure of each of your tires.
-
2
Use a pressurized air hose to inflate each tire to the manufacturers suggested PSI rating. Make sure you firmly attach the tip of the air hose to the tire to reduce air loss during the transfer.
-
-
3
Check the tires to ensure you've achieved the correct pressure. If a tire's pressure reads above the suggested PSI rating, slowly let air out until you reach the correct PSI level.
-
4
Repeat the previous steps for each additional tire. Check with a tire professional if you are concerned about any aspect of your tire.

Tips & Warnings
Have your tires balanced by a local mechanic once a year.
If you're unsure of the correct PSI required for your tires, consult your local mechanic or tire manufacturer.
If you hear air leaking out of any of the tires, check for punctures or any foreign objects sticking out of them.
Cracks on the outside of a tire is the first sign of future tire blowouts. Check with your mechanic to see if you should replace your tires.
Over inflating tires can cause a tire to burst and result in personal injury; follow manufacturer's guidelines for proper inflation.
