Repairing a bullseye break in a windshield is an easy application and will save you money and time versus having it done by a professional. Loose rocks in the road, driving behind dump trucks, and new asphalt paving are among the most likely scenarios to lend you the headache of a bullseye break.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Purchase a bullseye break windshield repair kit. You can find one in most automotive stores or the Internet at one of many online retailers.

  2. Step 2

Drill into the break with a high-speed dremel tool to flake off any loose glass.

  3. Step 3

Use the "Drill and Pop" method to prepare the glass. Tap the bullseye lightly with small steel tapper to make the circle more true or complete.

  4. Step 4

Prepare the bridge tool by screwing back the legs and the injector tip. Resin is added to the injector at this point.

  5. Step 5

Apply the injector tip to the windshield, then screw down the legs making sure you can see around the bridge.

  6. Step 6

Alternate applying pressure with creating a vacuum where the resin has been applied to the glass. The bridge may have a spring-loaded or electric vacuum. Either one will do fine.

  7. Step 7

Let the sun cure the resin. The resin requires an ultraviolet curing so if the sun isn't an option then an ultraviolet lamp will do.

on 1/9/2009 Or you could call your insurance and have the windshield repaired for nothing out of pocket. (In most cases, in CA anyway.)
