Step 1
Ride toward the ramp or bank with enough speed to get you to the top. If you're new to skateboarding, find a small mini-ramp or quarter pipe where you can practice the stall without needing to go too fast.
-
Step 2
Wait until you're close to the coping, then lift your front trucks up and over the ramp's edge.
-
Step 3
Set your front trucks down on top of the ramp and shift your weight onto your front leg. Remember to keep your front knee bent.
-
Step 4
Spend about one second standing on the board as it rests on the coping. Make sure the deck itself touches the ground; stalling on the trucks or wheels isn't a proper board stall.
-
Step 5
Move your weight back onto your rear leg and lift the front trucks off of the coping.
-
Step 6
Ride back down the ramp face in fakie, or with your good foot forward. This is exactly like riding switch; "fakie" simply means that you came out of a trick in the switch stance.
-
Step 7
Bend your legs and keep your weight centered over the board as you ride away from the ramp.
