How to Carve a Skateboarding Bowl
Of the different terrains you'll enounter at the skate park, the ramp and the bowl are two of the most entertaining. Both let you do grinds, grabs, flip tricks and spins with ease. You can use a bowl to carve wide, sweeping turns while preserving your momentum.

Approach one of the bowl's curved walls at a moderate pace. Make sure you have enough momentum to carry you up and around the curve.

Adjust your skateboard so that you head toward the bowl at a slight angle. You can hit bowls straight on, but they're easier to ride from an angle.

Bend your knees before you skate onto the curve. This helps you absorb the change in terrain as you start to ride the bowl.

Straighten your legs and stand up a bit as your skateboard carves through the turn. Doing this helps your body absorb the change in direction the bowl creates and keeps your legs from crumpling.

Compress your legs, again, as you come out of the turn. If you keep your legs straight, you'll risk losing control over your skateboard and missing the transition into your next trick.

Ride away from the bowl and onto the next obstacle. If you're comfortable with grabbing air, use the momentum you got from carving the turn to perform a big trick.
