Step 1
Check out the rules for the skate park. Many of the rules can vary, so you should learn precisely what you can and can't do. No matter where you skate, you will probably be told that you are pursuing this hobby at your own risk.

Step 2
Sign the skate park user agreement and waiver form at the skate park you want to skateboard at. No matter where you skate, these documents probably will make it clear that you are pursuing this hobby at your own risk.
-
Step 3
Be courteous to other skateboarders. These parks are often crowded with people practicing their tricks and moves. Skaters often use hand or head motions to indicate they're about to try their trick in an area. Heed the signs and use them for your own tricks. Wait your turn to practice and give other skateboarders the space they need to do their moves.

Step 4
Use all the features at the skate park that within your skill level. If you are a beginning skateboarder, stick to using small ramps rather than jumping off railings and other higher elevation props. Use common sense about your skateboarding so you can remain safe.
