Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which style of guitar music you wish to play. Since the guitar is one of the most versatile stringed instruments, both amateur and professional guitar players have posted tens of thousands of guitar tabs online. The Ultimate Guitar Tabs site has an abundance of free guitar tabs (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Examine the guitar tabs available through any of the hundreds of sheet music websites such as the Free Sheet Music Guide (see Resources below). Sheet music publishers make lower resolution samples available to entice guitar players to order professionally printed tabs.

  3. Step 3

Search through the guitar tab archives created by musicians and music lovers around the world. This is an excellent way to get guitar tabs of world music and other traditional musical genres. The Guitar Tabs website is a great place to find some guitar tabs for various musical styles from around the world (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Download guitar tabs directly from individual musicians. Many song writers post their guitar tabs online to share with their fans and to self-promote themselves in order to gather a little fame and perhaps fortune if discovered by the right people. Try the Chordie website (see Resources below).

  5. Step 5

Subscribe to one of the hundreds of music services. Print on demand guitar tabs are made available for a fee. This is one of the best ways to get the most recent guitar tabs for the most popular songs. Check out what the Guitar Masta has to offer (see Resources below).
