You might think you finished your quilted table runner once you put the binding on but don't stop there because the fun is just beginning. Spiff that baby up to its fullest potential so you'll have a fashionable piece of décor for your table. Here's some easy steps to turn your table runner into the focal point of the room.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Remove all the pins from the table runner.

  2. Step 2

Inspect the front and back of the table runner for stray threads and use your scissors to clip them off.

  3. Step 3

Think about ways to embellish the table runner. Determine what statement you'd like to make and study the fabric motif to determine where you can add that flash of whimsy, casual elegance, country style or whatever you want it to be.

  4. Step 4

Consider buttons, beads, baubles, ribbons and bows just to name a few. Perhaps you can appliqué some text onto it or a photograph of family members.

  5. Step 5

Visit craft stores, quilt shops, junk stores, flea markets and antique places for embellishment ideas and embellishments. Look in magazines for inspiration.

  6. Step 6

Embellish away once you've decided what to use. If you plan to place a centerpiece on your table runner, keep in mind that it will need to sit flat. Embellish around that area and don't place anything you want seen where the centerpiece will sit.

  7. Step 7

Situate the table runner on the table in the location you desire and top with a centerpiece that's appropriate to the theme of the table runner. Smile at the fruits of your labor every time you enter the room
