Step 1
Attend some RC races to get an idea of RC racing and what it's all about. Ask lots of questions, observe the other RC drivers, and have fun.
-
Step 2
Take your RC car to tracks on days when racing is not happening, and practice with your RC car on the track. This will give you a hands-on way to acclimate you to the track and learn a little about driving your RC and what you might expect on race day.
-
Step 3
Sign up for a race and let the organizers know if you are a first-time racer. You may find that some RC race tracks assign an experienced RC racer to be your guide for the day and will walk you through the process of setting up et al, as well as act as your coach.
-
Step 4
Compete in as many of the qualifying races as you can so that you can race your RC in the championship or final race. Even if you don't win, you very likely will have a blast, as well as meet some like-minded, RC fanatical people like yourself.
