How to Contact Juggle With Your Chest

Most of the tricks in contact juggling are unique to the discipline. When you think about it, there aren't many other sports that encourage you to roll balls along your body without them dropping. One exception to this general rule of thumb is the chest juggle. The move is hard to do with a small acrylic contact juggling ball, but you've probably seen many folks do it with a basketball, which is much easier.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place the ball on the back of one of your hands. Most jugglers start the chest roll with their stronger hands.

  2. Step 2

Lift your hand and extend your arm so the ball begins to roll toward your shoulder. Subtle movements work best, since the ball will roll without much slope.

  3. Step 3

Keep your forearm and bicep beneath the ball and allow it to travel all the way to your shoulder.

  4. Step 4

Lean back and tilt your torso to the side so that the ball rolls across your chest. Make sure it stays high on your chest so it can roll right onto your other shoulder.

  5. Step 5

Straighten your body as the ball reaches your other shoulder.

  6. Step 6

Follow the ball with your arm as it travels toward your other hand.

  7. Step 7

Stop the ball with your fingers once it reaches the back of your other hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Practice the chest juggle going both ways to improve your control and overall contact juggling skills.
  • Learn the basics of the trick with bigger balls, then move onto the contact juggling acrylics.
