Juggling with 4 balls is a good way to challenge yourself and impress an audience, whether you juggle just for fun or are trying it out professionally. One interesting trick for juggling with 4 balls is the 4-Ball Shower. If you can do the Shower Pattern with 3 balls and practice a couple of other 3-ball techniques, the Shower can be a good start for 4-ball juggling.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 4 balls or bags for juggling
  1. Step 1

Practice the 3-Ball Shower Pattern until you have mastered it on both of your hands. Also practice throwing the 3-Ball Shower at a very high height to learn to control the height of balls as you add more.

  2. Step 2

Practice the 3-Ball Chase in preparation for the 4-Ball Shower. Start with all 3 balls in one hand and throw them so that the first ball thrown lands in your other hand just after the last ball has been released. Return the balls the same way.

  3. Step 3

Use the 3-Ball Chase to gauge the height of your 4-Ball Shower. The height of the balls in the 3-Ball Chase is very close to the height you'll be juggling in the 4-Ball Shower.

  4. Step 4

Add the fourth ball to either the Chase or the Shower as you practice. Learn from a cold start rather than transitioning from another pattern just to get used to watching all 4 balls rather than just 3. Start and stop throwing repeatedly before juggling continuously with 4 balls.

  5. Step 5

Make sure you practice equally on both sides, or maybe even more with your non-dominant hand so that you are able to do the 4-Ball Shower from each of your hands.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add additional pairs of balls as you get better at juggling the 4-Ball Shower. The Shower Pattern can be very difficult and require a lot of practice with more than 3 balls, but the result is spectacular.
