Things You'll Need:
- Deck of cards
- Pinch of salt
-
Step 1
Place the salt in your pocket so you can slide your hand into your pocket and grab a small amount of salt without drawing attention to yourself.
-
Step 2
Lay the deck of cards out on the floor and ask a spectator to choose a card. Ask the person to memorize the card and put the rest of the cards into the deck with their selected card on the top.
-
Step 3
Instruct the participant to cut the cards into five different piles. Watch as she cuts the cards. Remember which pile has her card on top.
-
Step 4
Point to each pile as you pick it up. Lightly dust the top of the chosen card pile with salt. Put all the cards in the same deck, but do not to put the piles back together in the same order. This confuses the audience and makes the trick appear more difficult.
-
Step 5
Place the pile onto the floor and lightly kick the cards forward with your right foot. Push the cards and make them move to the left. Look at the deck on the floor. The card with the most distance between itself and the other cards is the card the audience member selected.
-
Step 6
Lift up the chosen card and show it to the audience.
