How to Prevent Soggy Cereal
Soggy cereal can ruin a perfectly good breakfast. Plus, you waste food if you throw out your cereal because it's too soggy for your tastes. Luckily, there's an answer to your soggy cereal woes. Simply pick up a Styrofoam cup when preparing your next bowl of cereal. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

-
1
Pour milk into a bowl. Popular cereals usually suggest a serving size of between ½ and 1 cup of milk.
-
2
Fill the Styrofoam cup with the total amount of cereal you want to eat. Using a Styrofoam cup to dispense small amounts of cereal at a time keeps an entire bowl of cereal from becoming soggy before you can eat it all.
-
-
3
Shake a little bit of cereal into the milk. How long it takes for cereal to become soggy depends on the brand. Some brands of cereal become soggy after 2 minutes others take 5 minutes. The amount of time that a cereal should stay in the milk is largely due to your preference and taste.
-
4
Scoop your cereal out of the bowl with a spoon and eat it.
-
5
Refill your bowl with small shakes out of the Styrofoam cup as you finish with previous servings. The goal is to pour only as much cereal into your bowl as you can eat before it becomes too soggy for your tastes.

Tips & Warnings
Some companies sell special cereal eating bowls. These bowls use shelves or separators to separate milk and cereal so that not all the cereal makes contact with the milk at the same time. Buy one of these bowls if you want to conserve Styrofoam or don't want to hassle with refilling your bowl every time you want more cereal.
Experiment with different cereals. Some cereal brands absorb milk faster than other brands.
