Step 1
Decide on a theme when you go hunting for your unique little gnomes. Many are old-world style and are considered antiques. They may suit your style better than some of the newer gnomes in their wacky poses and not-so-subtle subtexts.
-
Step 2
Search for unique garden gnomes on websites that specialize in them, like GnomeFrenzy.com or GnomeBisque.com. They come with their bare butt sticking up in the air and in a multitude of poses. Get a gnome with recordable talking innards, and gnomes that fart when you pass them.
-
Step 3
Hunt at flea markets and yard sales. Many of the more unique garden gnomes have been given to people as gifts. And not everyone has a sense of humor like you might. A good number of those gifts end up being sold or re-gifted.
-
Step 4
Trade gnomes with other collectors. Compare notes and new funny finds. The hunt is half the fun when you take up collecting, and this gnome fad seems to be one that's sticking around for a while.
