1
Cut a piece of fusible web, such as Wonder Under, to about 1/4-inch wider than your finished postcard will be. For instance, if you wanted your finished postcard to be 5 and 1/2 inches by 4 and 1/4 inches, cut your fabric stiffener to 5 and 3/4 inches by 4 and 1/2 inches.

2
Select a plain fabric upon which to write your message. Cut this fabric a 1/4-inch wider than the fusible web. Attach this fabric, centered on the fusible web, using the directions and heat setting of your iron that it requires.

3
Piece together a quilt pattern from fabric scraps you have laying around. Fuse them to a fusible web the same size as the back. Cut the fabric to the same size as the back.
-
4
Attach decorations and beads if you wish to the front of your postcard. Be sure to cover any fabric edges.
-
5
Sew the back and front of your fabric postcard around three sides, with the wrong sides together, stitching so that it is the finished size needed. Slide in a piece of thin cardboard, slightly smaller than the finished project, into the fabric to create a postcard. Fold the remaining edge in and create a decorative finishing stitch around the outside of the postcard. Now you can write your message and send it.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure the fabric postcard quilt is only 1/8-inch thick or less. The postal service will reject any postcard not sized correctly and your loved one won't get your message.
