The diaper bag filled with diapers, clean clothes to change three or four times day, toys, bottles, scrubbers, a car seat, a stroller, a carrier -- the list goes on and on of all the things you need to take care of your baby in a day. Use your imagination and a few of these tips to pack light for a trip with a baby.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Bring one bag of disposable diapers and buy new ones as you need them. Same thing goes for wipes, baby food and changing pads. Use as much disposal stuff as you can. Get the bottles with the disposable inner linings for the trip even if you don't use them at home.

  2. Step 2

Get an all-in-one carrier, car seat and sleeper that attaches onto a lightweight compact stroller. Lift out the car seat and pull up the handle to carry the baby. Release the back and lay the little bed on a bigger bed with you and another person, or a wall, on the other side of the baby bed.

  3. Step 3

Call ahead to any hotels you may be visiting to find out what kinds of baby items they may be able to supply. Soft baby washcloths and towels, a crib with baby blankets and non-tearing soap and shampoo may be supplied and you won't have to pack them yourself.

  4. Step 4

Pack a small bottle of baby laundry soap and wash out the mountain of onesies and other clothes each night.

  5. Step 5

Bring only one stuffed animal. Bring one toy that has a lot of different uses, such as playing music, turning and rattling.
