How to Make a Clothes Dryer Fragrance Pad

Everyone loves the clean smell of freshly laundered clothes. To achieve this, most people buy scented fabric sheets to add to their dryers, but you can be thrifty and make your own clothes dryer fragrance pad. This is a fairly quick and easy project.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cotton fabric
  • Tape measure
  • Water soluble marker
  • Straight pin
  • Scissor
  • Quilt batting
  • Fragrance or essential oil of your choice
  • Sewing machine
  1. Step 1

    Take the piece of fabric and fold in two.

  2. Step 2

    Get the tape measure then place it along the edge of the fabric. Measure and mark off a 6 inch by 6 inch square with the marker.

  3. Step 3

    Place a straight pin in the center of the square to hold it place for cutting.

  4. Step 4

    Cut out the square along the markings with the scissors.

  5. Step 5

    Use the sewing machine to stitch close the right sides together along the edge of the fabric on three sides. Leave one side open for stuffing. Remove the straight pin from the center of the square.

  6. Step 6

    Stuff some quilt batting into the pad through the opening and add a few drops of fragrance oils to the batting.

  7. Step 7

    Stitch closed the opening either by hand or with the sewing machine. With this project, you can make a clothes dryer fragrance pad that will last longer than most store bought fabric sheets.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can add more fragrance oil to the pad when the scent decreases.
  • Make a fragrance sheet quickly without sewing by using a dampened washcloth and adding a few drops of a fragrance or essential oil of your choice. Place it in the dryer with the clothes.
