Instructions

    • 1

Cut the seams from the paper bags and flatten the bags so you have two smooth pieces of brown paper.

    • 2

Draw a gingerbread man on one of the bags and cut it out. Lay the gingerbread man on the uncut bag and trace around it. Cut out the second bag so you have two identical gingerbread men shapes.

    • 3

Give the gingerbread man a face, and decorate him with markers, colored pencils, buttons, small pieces of fabric and glitter.

    • 4

Lay the gingerbread men shapes one on top of the other, and punch holes around the edge of the bags.

    • 5

Stuff the gingerbread man very lightly with a bit of cotton quilt batting or wadded up newspaper, if desired.

    • 6

Lace some yarn or narrow ribbon through the holes in the bag to join the top gingerbread man to the bottom gingerbread man.

    • 7

Have a puppet show with your gingerbread man, or attach a piece of ribbon or yarn and hang it from the doorway or in a window.
