The bright green John Deere tractor has been a familiar sight on American farms for years. The Model A tractor was first produced in 1934, and today remains the most popular John Deere. The company is still a leading tractor manufacturer, and the brand's popularity has spawned hundred of John Deere clubs, where an antique tractor is a valued possession. Websites and magazines devoted to antique John Deeres are also available.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Learn the value of your antique John Deere, but realize there is no definitive price guide for antique tractors. It all depends on your tractor's configuration, age and how well it is restored. Most buyers are looking for a "parade ready" antique John Deere. You can up your price if you have great tires.

  2. Step 2

Polish, repair and generally make it shine. It's fairly easy to get parts, even for older tractors. If you have an old tractor that is in bad shape, you may be able to sell it to someone wanting to start a restoration project.

  3. Step 3

Advertise locally. Realistically, most antique tractors are sold this way simply because shipping costs are so exorbitant.

  4. Step 4

Connect with other John Deere enthusiasts by finding the nearest club. John Deere tractors have almost a cult following. It's a sure bet that you'll find either someone who wants to buy another tractor or knows someone who wants to buy a tractor.

  5. Step 5

Strut your stuff (and your tractor) on the worldwide web. There are sites that are exclusive to antique John Deere tractors. For many of these, there is no charge to advertise.
