It's more than games. Anyone with a Wii console and a broadband connection can connect to the world and learn about current events in real-time with the Wii News Channel. Check out areas of the world through maps you manipulate with your Wiimote. There are no barriers--you even have a choice in the language you hear your news in.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Turn on your Wii console and make sure your Internet connection is working. If the Internet password is protected, ask the administrator to unlock it for you.

  2. Step 2

Select the button on your Wiimote that looks like a house. This takes you to the main page where you'll see a series of icons. Select the icon for the World News Channel--it's right next to the Weather Channel.

  3. Step 3

Scroll through the different choices for news. Choices include: National News, Regional News, International News, Sports, Arts/Entertainment, Business, Science/Health and Technology.

  4. Step 4

Browse for topics of interest either by their setting geographically or by date. Use your Wiimote to rotate the globe around. Your Wiimote also lets you change the angle of the globe so you get more of a sense of geography.

  5. Step 5

Zoom in to defined areas for which you want to hear news or zoom out for a broader scope.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some news stories and images are not fit for young children so keep the channel and Internet locked under password protection if young children are around.
