How to Hook Rubber Bracelets

Rubber bracelets have gone in and out of style so many times, it's almost prudent to keep a pair lying around "just in case." In fact, fashion junkies the world over love to accessorize with these inexpensive baubles. The concept is simple, however, if the last time you hooked a rubber bracelet was during Madonna's punk look--circa 1983--so, pay close attention.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Think even numbers. Each bracelet should have an opposite, so be sure to start with an even number.
Step2
Get a grip. Start by holding one bracelet between thumb and index finger of the left hand and, using the right hand, insert a second bracelet into position beside the first. Be sure that the bracelets are not completely overlapping to form a perfect "O" as this will make the next step easier.
Step3
Reposition the bracelets. While still holding both rubber bracelets between thumb and index finger, gently slide one forward (about halfway) so that a small oval shape forms between them.
Step4
Form a "U." With the opposite index finger, latch on to the edge of the bracelet on the right. Use your thumb to latch on to the opposite side of the same bracelet and pull it very gently to form a side-ways "U."
Step5
Repeat the "U." Hook your left thumb through the closest edge of the first bracelet while, at the same time, sliding your index through the opposite edge of the same bracelet. They should now form one complete bracelet.
Step6
Slide it on. Being careful to keep the tension tight between your newly-hooked rubber bracelets, use one hand to slide the bracelet over all but your thumb on the opposite hand. Once this is done, slide your thumb through the bracelet and guide it into place on your wrist.
Step7
Do it again. Depending on how many rubber bracelets you want to hook, repeat Steps 1 through 6 as many times as necessary.
