How to Defeat the Crystal Bug in Final Fantasy XII
Save crystals are typically a welcome sight when playing Final Fantasy XII. However, at certain points of the journey, your party is likely to encounter a Crystal bug, a powerful fiend that cleverly disguises itself to look like a save crystal. This fiend, armed with powerful magic, will prove to be a worthy adversary, but it is not impossible to defeat.
Instructions

1
Touch the Crystal bug. To complete its ruse, the fiend will remain quiet and unassuming (like a normal save crystal) until touched. Once activated, the attack will begin.
-
2
Take inventory of your party's health and strength. As magic will have no effect on this particular fiend, you will want to use your heaviest hitters with the highest levels. HP should be full on each fighter.
-
-
3
Retreat from the Crystal bug to rearrange and replenish your party. Since this enemy is a stationary creature, it will not be able to pursue you. This will make it easier to retreat when necessary.
-
4
Fight the Crystal bug with a barrage of physical attacks. This fiend will absorb or resist any magic sent its way, so MP should be reserved for healing your party.
-
5
Continue the retreat and replenish process if necessary. Continue with the physical attacks until the Crystal bug is finally defeated.

Tips & Warnings
Once the Crystal bug is defeated, it will turn into an actual save crystal. Save your game and venture on.
While you will gain no experience points for fighting this creature, you will receive ten license points, so this is certainly a creature worth fighting.
Any party members equipped with the steal ability can try to take ether and feystone from this creature.
SPOILER ALERT!! You will only encounter the Crystal bug three times during your adventure. You will find the green crystal in the Stilshrine of Miriam. The blue Crystal bug will be in the Sochen Cave Palace, and the orange one, disguised as a gate crystal, will be in the Nabreus Deadlands.
