The food for a bachelor party may seem unimportant, but it serves a dual purpose. Not only does everyone appreciate snacks, but munchies help absorb alcohol and keep overindulgent party goers from getting sick. Breads in particular are helpful in this capacity-keep this in mind as you create a menu for a bachelor party.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ask the groom-to-be if he has any requests for favorite foods. If the party is to be a surprise, ask his family members about his favorites and if he has any food allergies. Parents, siblings, roommates and the bride-to-be are usually good resources for this sort of information.

  2. Step 2

Require your buddies to chip in for the food in order to attend the party. Get their money before the party, or you might wind up paying for all of it yourself.

  3. Step 3

Designate the best outdoor chef to grill outside. Arrange for at least two grills with extra propane tanks (or charcoal) and cooking utensils. In case weather conditions are poor, arrange for the grills to be in an open but covered area.

  4. Step 4

Choose a buddy to buy the meat of your choice, based on budget. Hamburgers and hot dogs are old favorites as well as low-cost options. Chicken works well for mid-range budgets, and steaks come in a variety of cuts for almost any financial situation.

  5. Step 5

Buy additional food to go with the meat. Several types of chips and appetizers are fine for hamburgers and hot dogs, but pricier meat deserves snazzier side dishes. Salads and casseroles are all good options, and you can order them ready-to-eat from any local deli.

Tips & Warnings
  • Purchase 20 percent more food than you think you'll need. You can always freeze or give away leftovers, but running out creates a bigger problem.
  • Prepare as much as possible in advance. Marinate meat, chop vegetables, create meat and cheese trays and put chips in lidded bowls. The more prep work you do, the more smoothly the party will run.
