1
Draw or create a circle while moving in a clockwise direction, or in the direction of energetic creation. You can create a circle with salt or other elements, with rope or simply draw it in the earth with a tree branch. Make the circle only large enough to hold the members of the ritual and the ritual objects.

2
Place an object at each direction to represent earth, air, fire and water. These objects can be improvised according to your personal practice or even the purpose of the ritual.

3
Organize your ritual objects inside of the circles and invite any other members who will be participating in the circle to enter. Place candles around the perimeter of the circle for light, to help evoke the spirits and to dispel negative energy.
-
4
Connect your circle to the Earth and sky before performing your ritual. This can be done by having all people inside the circle lightly stomping on the ground with lifted hands, or can be done alone if you are performing an individual ritual.

5
Remove your circle by first blowing out the candles and then picking up or brushing away the circle in a counter-clockwise direction.
