Step 1
Choose a place to bilge. Go into your "Missions" page to bilge on a navy ship or visit the "Notice Board" to join a pillaging ship.

Find a bilge station. These stations are located under the deck in the hull of all ships.

Hover the mouse over the bilge station. Click "Start" to start the puzzle. The ship has to be in motion before the puzzle will start. If the ship is docked, the game waits to begin until the ship is moving.

Step 4
Move pieces one spot to the left or right to create rows of three or more. When three or more similar pieces come together, they disappear and the water level lowers. When you move pieces below the water level in the game, the pieces move slower. The faster you can move pieces and create rows of three of a kind, the better your standing in the game.

Step 5
Create combos and chains. Combos are created by moving one piece and getting three of a kind vertically and horizontally at the same time. Chains are created when pieces fall into rows of three or more after you get three of a kind.

Step 6
Watch the small picture of a water pump at the bottom of the screen. The faster you move, the more it changes colors. It indicates how well you are pumping at the moment. When it becomes a glowing golden color, you are a master bilger.

Step 7
Use the special items the bilge puzzle gives you. Move the crabs above the water level to release them to get extra points. Switch the jellyfish with another piece and all the pieces of that kind will disappear. Click on the blowfish to make blocks around it disappear. This creates combos and chains.
