How to Make Greeting Cards Using Print Shop Deluxe

Greeting cards can easily be made on your home computer. Print Shop Deluxe is software that can be used to print greeting cards as well as other creative stationary items. Creating cards with this program can be quite easy once you are familiar with it.

      Open Print Shop Deluxe. In the project picker menu, choose "Greeting Card." You can create any size card you wish. For this tutorial select "Quarter Fold" then select the button marked "Start from Scratch" and click "Next."

      Choose Tall or Wide, Top Fold or Side Fold. The program will show you a corresponding photo to help you choose. Once you have made a selection click Finish.

      Look for the word "Front." It should appear in the lower left-hand corner of where the blank card is. You should see the word "Front" with a right-pointing arrow beside it. You can use this arrow to navigate around the card from the front to the back or on the inside.

      Click on "Art & Photo." This selection should appear down the left side of your screen. Print Shop contains a large collection of clip art images to choose from when creating a card. You can search for an image by entering a keyword in the box labeled "Enter Search Word." When you have decided on an image click on that image and then click "Select."

      Enter text. Click "Text Tools" on the left-hand side of the screen, and then click on "Insert Text Box." A box will appear surrounded by dotted lines, click anywhere on the line, and the cursor will turn into an arrow so you can alter the size or position of the box. Double-click inside the box and type in your text. You can alter the font type, size and color as well.

      Change the card view to the inside of the card. Follow the previous steps to enter pictures or text to the inside of the card. Change the card view to the back of the card. Also using the previous steps, decorate the back of the card.
