Microcars, including the popular Smart car, have a wide availability in many European countries. Microcars typically have a length less than 10 feet and a width smaller than 6 feet. If you have a microcar, you need to learn how to appeal to buyers in order to successfully sell the car.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Find a website that specifically sells microcars. The Microcar Club allows you to post an online ad in order to attract buyers (see Resources below). Also, if you have a local microcar club, you can see about showing and selling your car at one of their events.

  2. Step 2

Give details that microcars enthusiasts want to know. You're not going to write a traditional car ad when selling a microcar. Include the car's dimensions, fuel efficiency and current safety rating.

  3. Step 3

Attempt to sell your car through an auto auction. With American Auto Auction, you can auction off your microcar to the highest bidder (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Sell your car internationally. If you can't find a buyer domestically, then look into the cost of selling your car internationally. BuyYourCar is a used car dealer based in the United Kingdom that allows you to post an ad selling your microcar to European parties (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings
  • You'll find different safety features on a microcar than a traditional car. Microcars typically have stiffer frames and knee air bags as well as side air bags.
  • You should research average prices of microcars prior to selling the vehicle. Use the Edmunds website to get an idea about your ticket price.
