How to Wear Electric Lipstick

Make a bold statement when you wear brightly-colored lipstick. Get your pout noticed when you accentuate your lips with bold colors. Electric lipsticks are great for an evening on the town, especially if you want to take the focus off of a facial flaw. Use discretion as you choose your color and pick a shade that will maximize your beauty.

• Muted facial makeup
• Electric lipstick
• Lip liner
• Pocket or clutch
• Mirror

1. Wear a shade of lipstick that coordinates with the color of you outfit. Hold the lipstick next to your clothing; if the color works, wear it; if not, go with something less bold.

2. Save electric lipstick for a night on the town. Do not wear electric lipstick during the day--you may look out of place.

3. Apply your makeup as usual. Choose a blusher that compliments the lipstick, and apply it lightly. Wear muted, neutral eye colors. Keep your face makeup to a minimum and focus on the lips.

4. Line your lips with a neutral lip liner or one that matches the shade of the electric lipstick. Outline the lips first, then fill in the lips with the pencil to get longer wear out of the lipstick. Finally, apply the electric lipstick over the liner.

5. Keep your lipstick and a compact mirror in a pocket or clutch so that you can reapply it as needed. Don't let the lipstick wear off or you will have faded lips along with a muted face.
