How to Relax on Vacation
Americans are finding it more difficult to relax on vacation especially with economy changes and fewer employees and more work. Advances in technology have helped in many ways but it has also made it easier for our employer, clients and co-workers to reach us while we are away from the office or on vacation.

1
Leave your laptop and cell phone at home. If this is not possible then leave them at the hotel while you are site seeing, beaching or having dinner. You can check your messages and email at a later or designated time each day to address any emergencies. In most cases it is not necessary to address emails and phone messages immediately.
-
2
Wear your watch only when necessary. You will be able to focus and enjoy your vacation more if you are not worried about or even aware of the time. During our normal workweek, we are so time conscious with appointments and commitments.

3
Search online or pick up guides and magazines at your local travel agency for available activities and events to help you determine what you would like to do when visiting.
-
4
Book all tours, and other activities ahead of time before leaving for your vacation eliminating this process later.
-
5
Find time to relax while on vacation. Be sure you do not fill your schedule so much that you have no time to relax or you will return home feeling more exhausted then when you left.
-
6
Allow yourself at least a day or two after returning from vacation and before returning to work to settle in. There are always things to do such as, unpacking, laundry and going through the untouched mail.
