Find Women-Owned Companies

Women-owned companies are on the rise across the world. Governments make specific funds available to companies owned by women to support the place of women in the workforce. Choosing to do business with companies that women own is also a way to support their growth and to encourage other women to take the role of management in today's business world.

Instructions

    • 1

Use any companies that are owned by women you currently do business with as a springboard to locating new women-owned businesses. Ask for referrals and contacts with other companies like theirs. Word of mouth and networking with current contacts will lead to some of the most profitable connections.

    • 2

Start from ground zero by looking up organizations of women-owned companies. A couple of the organizations that can begin to make contacts for you are the Women Presidents Organization and National Association of Women Business Owners (see Resources below). There are many other organizations that will give you a start in making contacts.

Make contact with some of the leading Business Schools in the nation and abroad and ask for the name and contact information of someone that is involved with organizations that support women executives and women owned businesses. Many of the colleges and universities are involved with supporting women and minority owned businesses and helping them to succeed. Networking will again be the best method to start from this source and will lead you in the right direction.
