Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Soak the handkerchief in a bowl of liquid starch. Once the entire handkerchief is wet, wring out any excess starch and lay it flat on a smooth surface to dry.

  2. Step 2

Iron the handkerchief once it's completely air dried. Iron it until it's completely smooth and then lay it in front of you so it looks like a diamond. This is called point down.

  3. Step 3

Fold the handkerchief in half. Bring the bottom point up to the top point and iron the handkerchief again so the fold line is creased tightly.

  4. Step 4

Hold the left point and fold it over the handkerchief to the right side until the left point touches the side on the right. Iron again to crease. Then take the right point and fold it over to the left side and iron again.

  5. Step 5

Take the front point on the top and fold it down over the front of your pocket. Then take the back point and fold it down over the back of the pocket. Iron both fold lines again to crease securely.

Tips & Warnings
  • Add embellishments to further personalize your pocket. You can sew buttons onto the top corners and thread it with embroidery floss to make a hanging pocket.
