The Easter holiday is a fun time for the kids. Setting aside the excitement of the Easter bunny and the fun associated with the annual Easter egg hunt, kids love decorating eggs. While a kid can play for hours in egg-decorating mode, mothers and fathers can only eat so many eggs and have to cut the fun short. Decorate nonedible Easter eggs to keep the youngsters busy.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Paint or markers
  • Foam Easter eggs
  • Plastic Easter eggs
  • Stickers
  • Glue
  • Glitter or glitter glue
  • Adhesive eyes
  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Egg carton
  1. Step 1

Plan a monster theme for the Easter eggs. Have one child choose a thrilling movie after which to model the eggs.

  2. Step 2

Paint or draw monster designs on foam Easter eggs. Younger kids can decorate plastic Easter eggs with funny face stickers.

  3. Step 3

Apply glue to surface of foam Easter eggs where you want to add glitter. Kids can use glitter glue pen applicators if available. Then stick on the adhesive eyes.

  4. Step 4

Cut pipe cleaners to desired lengths for arms, legs, tentacles or funny hair. Insert into foam Easter eggs.

  5. Step 5

Decorate the Easter dinner table or buffet with these fun creations. Place an Easter egg monster at each table setting as a party favor.

Tips & Warnings
  • For additional fun, create monster movie props for your decorated Easter eggs. Shoe boxes or small gift bags with openings cut in them make perfect little houses.
  • Store the new Easter egg monster creations in an egg carton. Whenever the kids are ready to create monster movie mayhem, their Easter egg monsters are ready for fun.
