Things You'll Need:

- Scissors
- Embroidery floss
- Large embroidery needle
- Silk roses
- Silk ivy
- Silk leaves
- Ribbon
- Felt

-
Step 1
Start with a flexible material with small holes, like plastic canvas or small plastic fencing. Create the circular bottom and use that as the template to determine how long the side section should be cut. Cut another narrow section to use as a handle.
-
Step 2
Connect your three sections together using yarn, embroidery floss or twine.
-
Step 3
Line the interior of your basket with felt in a color that matches your silk roses.
-
Step 4
Gather a large amount of silk roses in various colors and stages of bloom. Also consider greenery, like leaves or ivy, to fill out the basket and add some interesting variation.
-
Step 5
Push the ends of the silk roses through the holes in your Easter basket. Alternate the various colors and leaves, turning your basket as you work. Cover as much of the basket as possible so the material you used to make the basket isn't visible. Glue silk petals to the handle and line the bottom with felt or silk.
-
Step 6
Bend the ends of the stems down toward the floor of your basket. Trim away any excess. Cover the inside with duct tape so the stems are secured in place and won't interfere with the basket's functionality.
-
Step 7
Line the interior of your Easter basket with felt. Glue a thin ribbon over the edge to of the basket and the edges of the handle to complete it.
