Winning an argument is one of the most fulfilling accomplishments that many human beings look forward to. One foolproof way to win an argument is to employ logic in your reasoning. To win every argument using logic takes practice, self-discipline and self-control. Here's how to start winning arguments with logical thought processes.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remove any emotion you may have about the topic. Too many times, while in the heat of the moment, our heart overtakes our brain. Mentally take a step away from the debate and think like a scientist would.

  2. Step 2

Organize topics and counter arguments in your head, whether you are on the offensive or defensive during the argument. This will keep your argument on track and give you time to maintain control of the argument.

  3. Step 3

Back up any logic you present in the argument with facts. While it's impossible to show another person a book or prove what a teacher once told you, do your best to cite the source of your information. This gives your point the credibility needed to win an argument.

  4. Step 4

Admit to yourself when you are wrong and search your argument for a way to bridge this gap logically. Even when an argument is based in logic you can come to a dead end. However, if you maintain control of the argument and consistently show that you are right, you will win the argument and develop the reputation that you always win the arguments with logic.
