You can promote your work online by creating a professional website or using a social network to showcase your abilities and accomplishments. Make sure your online site includes a comprehensive and up-to-date list of work and a way for potential clients to contact you with new assignments.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide how to promote your work online. Create your own website, or use a free social network like Facebook, MySpace or both.

  2. Step 2

Review the websites of others who do similar or related work to see how they promote their services. See what you like and dislike about those sites and keep that information in mind when designing your own online site.

  3. Step 3

Design a professional page. Use neutral colors and font styles to attract as much business as possible.

  4. Step 4

Post a professional photograph of yourself on your website. A professional photo makes your online site stand out, and makes it easier for potential clients to remember and contact you since they feel a connection.

  5. Step 5

List your work online. If your work has been featured on other websites, provide links to those sites so visitors can see your accomplishments. If you can't list all of your work, list the best examples and make a catalog of the rest available upon request.

  6. Step 6

Make sure you note any accomplishments, certificates or awards that you've earned or won for your work.

  7. Step 7

Explain your fees if it's appropriate, but don't put prices on your main page. You want to promote your work and encourage others to view it first before they begin to contemplate your fees.

Tips & Warnings
  • When laying out your web page, avoid wild colors and patterns that can go out of style or turn off perspective clients.
